National Biodiesel Board

Biodiesel has become a common fuel in use. Biodiesel is a domestic, renewable fuel for diesel engines derived from natural oils like soybean oil. It is commonly produced by the transesterification of the vegetable oil or animal fat feedstock. The national biodiesel board is that national trade association representing the biodiesel industry in United States. The head quarters of national biodiesel board is in Jefferson city, Missouri, united states.

The national biodiesel board was created in 1992. It was created by the America’s soybean. The America’s soybean created the national biodiesel board because of its interest in the express purpose of getting biodiesel accepted into America’s fuel mix. It is believed that biodiesel is spurring the growth of the U.S soybean industry, making more soy product available for food and fuel. It is said that any company planning to sell biodiesel in America has to register with the national biodiesel board or should pay for a full set of tests themselves.

National biodiesel board organizes the annual biodiesel conference and expo. The national biodiesel board feedstock development program is insisting in production of arid variety crops, algae, waste greases, and other feedstock’s. This is mainly done by national biodiesel board to expand available material for biodiesel in a sustainable manner.

Jatropha Biodiesel Processing Plant

Indian farmers are concentrating in cultivating jatropha. The present Indian program is attempting to integrate and combine crucial economic, social and environmental aspects. The production of biodiesel from jatropha is the main reason for many farmers cultivating Jatropha biodiesel processing plant. So farmers are investing in long term project of producing biodiesel processing from Jatropha plant.

The jatropha is considered as the ideal crop of India. The main reason for jatropha being ideal crop is it is a drought resistance crop. So this feature makes it grow well in India. One of the main factors for farmers cultivating Jatropha biodiesel processing plant in all unused lands is shortage of water availability in India.

Jatropha is said to be a drought hardy shrub, non-demanding, tolerant to extremes, suitable in tropical and non-tropical climate and considerable climatic changes, even up to light frost. With the help of jatropha the biodiesel can be prepared effectively and efficiently. Certain type of special processing plant is required to prepare the biodiesel from jatropha. The biodiesel is produced from the jatropha seeds which are non toxic. Many Jatropha biodiesel processing plant are setup in India as the jatropha grows well suitably in India than any other place.

Jatropha Biodiesel Production

Jatropha biodiesel production has become very famous in India. This is because the jatropha is drought resistant crop and also the availability of water in India is less. So India is very suitable for jatropha production.

The jatropha biodiesel production is done by crushing the jatropha seeds. The result of crushing the jatropha seeds is jatropha oil. This jatropha oil is processed and this results in production of high quality biodiesel. This biodiesel is used in a standard diesel car. The residue of the process is again processed and used as biomass feedstock to power electricity plants. This processed residue can also be used as fertilizer. The processed residue contains nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium.

The most interesting news about the jatropha is it is able to produce four times more fuel per hectare as soybean and ten times as maize. Many farmers are started cultivating jatropha in India as only less water is needed. The farmers have also started cultivating jatropha in all unused lands. Further research is also going on in jatropha biodiesel production. Many researchers and scientist are involved in the jatropha biodiesel production research. People are becoming very concerned about environment so definitely there is no surprise in people adopting the use of biodiesel.
